Our Crafters

African Reflections' Artists

Many African artists practice their craft in abject poverty. Their works of art are made either in small hovels, or outside in the dirt of poor villages. They work with no electricity, sanitation or other vital services or amenities.

These artists have little or no access to transportation, no marketing skills, and very little opportunity for selling their crafts to a wider market.

African Reflections works directly with craftsmen assisting them to build workshops and creating a culture of entrepreneurship and enabling them to earn a fair income, which in turn pays for food, health care, proper sanitation and housing.

“Because we want people to make a difference in people’s lives.”

“in order to maintain the inherent skills and cultural heritage of Africa, part of our profits will be channeled through the African Reflections Foundation in East Africa back to these craftsmen and their families for poverty alleviation projects; school desk projects, as well as the creation of a better health environment for the HIV/AIDS stricken craftsmen.” …says Sajida Mamdani, Co-Founder
